Department of MALAYALAM

The Malayalam department is one of the most important language departments SKC. Malayalam is taught as an optional or second language in all colleges under the University of Calicut, since it is the native tongue and the administrative language of Kerala. Malayalam is now offered as a minor under FYUGP.

The progressive literary, media, and academic growth of Malayalam, which has been granted the status of a superior language, have resulted in an increase in the number of students studying Malayalam as an optional or second language.

Besides implementing the curriculum, the department organises language day celebrations and national workshops to create an environment for developing literary aptitude in students. The Malayalam department and the college management aim to cultivate a student community that loves Malayalam and to take them to the next stages of the language's growth. The magazine published every academic year encourages students to let their creativity and literary abilities flow.
